Safe & reliable: Top geysers with safety features for your home

Safety first, always

While geysers today are dirt cheap, it’s worth bearing in mind that these geysers are marvels of engineering in their own right. They’re small pressure vessels that contain the hot water as it expands, feature smart sensors to ensure that temperatures and pressures are within safe margins, and so much more. They’re so safe, in fact, that these days we don’t even think about these features when buying a geyser. Still, some geysers are safer than others, and if safety is your number one concern, here are five that offer the best safety features.

Croma 3-litre instant water geyser

Available for just Rs 2,799, the Croma instant water geyser is an excellent option. It has a 3-litre tank which is plenty for showers and for kitchen use, and it can bring water up to temperature in mere minutes. This is also a very safe option as it has a shock-proof body, an auto shut-off function, and a built-in thermistor to monitor and manage temperatures. There’s also a safety valve to prevent pressure build up.

If you’re looking for a higher capacity option, Croma also offers a 5-litre variant for Rs 3,799.

Havells Instanio 3-litre instant water geyser

The Instanio 3-litre instant geyser from Havells boasts has some great safety features. The power cord is made from a fire-retardant material to mitigate fire hazards. It does require 3000W of power, after all. The stainless steel water tank on this Havells geyser is made from an ultra-thick 304 grade steel, and there’s a non-ferrous pressure plate included. The inner container also comes with a 5-year warranty.

Racold CDR DLX 15-litre storage geyser

If you’re considering a storage type geyser, the CDR DLX from Racold is a safe bet. It takes about 10 minutes to heat 15 litres of water to 60°C, but more importantly, is rated to a water pressure of 8 bar. This is higher than average and is needed for homes with high water pressure at the source. It also has a 3-level safety system including auto shut-off, a double level thermostat, safety valve, and a titanium and enamel coated tank. This geyser is available for Rs 8,887 on Croma.

Croma 15-litre storage geyser

Croma’s 15-litre storage geyser is also a great option here. Available for Rs 7,999, this one also rated at 8 bars of water pressure and features like auto cut-off and thermal cut-off. Additionally, the geyser comes with reinforced insulation for superior safety. The tank is made of steel and coated with glassline, you get a temperature control knob, and the whole construction is very robust and designed to be long lasting. The device and tank come with a 2-year and 5-year warranty respectively.

AO Smith Finesse 25-litre storage geyser

The AO Smith Finesse is truly massive thanks to its 25-litre capacity, but it’s also well designed.  It’s also packed to the brim with safety features such as a thermal cut off and safety valve, glass coated heating element, a rated pressure of 8 bar, safety valve, and more. This model is available on Croma for Rs 11,867.

Geysers come with many safety features as standard these days. The main thing to look out for is the warranty and pressure rating. The pressure rating is especially important for high-rise buildings and areas with high water pressure as you’ll need a geyser that can handle that load.
